Cultural Renewal in a New Millennium
|
The goal for our foundation is to renew, create, promote and fulfill various
educational and cultural programs and activities in our diverse society in order to attain a more abundant
life for all. It is not an easy task to be a channel of real blessings to others. From day one,
every member of our board realized that humankind can fulfill the highest and the noblest dreams
in life and that any significant endeavor demands sacrifice.
Over the years, we are most grateful for the love and support received from many
people, especially members of the ECF Inc. family who shared our dreams and aspirations. Projects
denoted with a (*) were in cooperation with ECF Inc. With limited resources and sometimes
under extreme difficult circumstances, we were able to help rebuilt 7 schools in Hunan, China which
were destroyed by floods; to help established 4 community homes for the elderly in Shanghai; and
one community home in Changde, China; to open 2 children centers in the Philippines; to start a
computer training center in Macau; to partnership with a homeless center in Hong Kong; to construct a
clean drinking water system for a large school district in Vietnam; to sponsor 3 teams of educators
from China; to provide scholarships to needy students in many institutions; and to present a variety of performances
and programs in America. As a result:
- more than 3,000 parents can send their children back to school with joy;
- over 500 old people started a new life in new homes;
- about 400 poor children received physical help and spiritual nourishment;
- all children from our Macau orphanage received computer skill training with the hope for a better future;
- at least 7 homeless people found salvation and a better life;
- over 3,500 students, teachers and staff enjoy clean drinking water every day;
- about 20 educators and government officials from China were motivated to do more for the younger generation in China;
- more than 150 needy students around the world received scholarships and became very successful in their fields of study; and
- thousands of supporters came to share the joy and excitement in the various performances.
So many have given. So many have received. This is just a beginning. As we
entered the 21st century, we are reminded by the famous saying of Winston Churchill, "We make a
living by what we get; But we make a life by what we give." .
We will continue to be a channel of blessings to others. Come and join us.
Together we may be able to help thousands to enjoy a more abundant life in a renewed culture.
